Time for another Blog! Behind the scenes we have been spending a considerable amount of time pulling together some plans and developments for Magniwool. Amongst which is rebranding from Magniwool to “Magnewool” and this will eventually translate into Magnewool packaging/brochures etc. This unique magnetic therapy wool range is being expanded and improved; by mid October we will also be offering Pillow Pads which can be inserted into pillows to specifically help with headaches/migraines, and an increased choice of sizes for Pet Beds. Magnewool is part of White Cloud, so products will eventually have a White Cloud label and become integrated into http://www.whitecloud.co.uk/ once the site has been redesigned and launched.

As part of The Campaign for Wool, we are doing much more with advertising and have been really pleased with the response to ads in The Lady magazine. Just this week we had the first of a planned series in The Daily Telegraph. Look out for the Monday Health Section within the newspaper over the next few weeks as there will be a 20% discount code.

We had a very interesting conversation with a customer this week who had noticed that while she was on a cruise to Norway she felt noticeably better. It seems that the nearer the ship got towards the North Pole, her general aches and pains seemed to diminish and she could only put it down to the effect of magnetic energy. She talked to some other passengers and was amazed to find that quite a few people felt exactly the same way and had also noticed an improvement. Fascinating stuff and something we would like to find out a little more about – by it’s very nature magnetic therapy is something that is hard to define as one person’s “feeling better” is not someone else’s, but we (and ourselves included) definitely notice a difference if we are not sleeping on our beloved Magniwool underblanket.

Over the past few months we have been taking a long hard look at how we want to develop the Magniwool brand – although it is a product sold under the White Cloud brand, it very much deserves its own focus and that is why earlier this year we developed a separate Magniwool brochure and have put more time and attention into the website. We have several trade customers now expressing interest in Magniwool which is very pleasing as it is an item that needs to be seen in shops and, to some extent, discussed with customers. To this end, we have been developing some Trade material which has had good results and we will probably end up incorporating much of what is being done into our own displays when we take Magniwool with us to forthcoming Shows. Our next Show will be Burghley Horse Trials from 1st-4th September. Having given it a miss last year, we are really pleased to be going back this year and will be bringing along plenty of Underblankets but also Magniwools for pets because this really does seem to be a growing market. Animals (and dogs in particular) seem to know that magnets will be beneficial and we have had several customers reporting that not only does their dog seem to be better, but that they actively seek out their Magniwool …. ultimately we would like to develop a Pet Review page for the Website.

A customer recently sent us a fascinating article titled “Magnets pull crash victim out of coma”which was a report of a 29 year old man in Illinois who lay in a coma for more than a year after a severe car crash. As a last resort, he was treated with an electromagnetic coil held over the front of his head to stimulate underlying brain tissue. At first there was little change in his condition, but after 15 sessions, he began to improve. He was eventually able to return home and began to learn to speak again. The therapy, Transcranial magnetic stimulation had previously been researched for treating stroke victims, but never before someone with severe brain trauma. The researchers who carried out the treatment are convinced it helped the patient, but acknowledge that further studies are required.

It is always rewarding when customers take the trouble to tell us how much difference sleeping with their Magniwool has made to their own lives, so that will be the focus of the next Blog post ….

A recent enquiry from a lady in Paris shows a) just how wonderful the internet is and b) how widely read The Lady magazine is! Although the Magniwool website is currently being worked on, this particular enquiry made us realise that we need to do much, much more in terms of detailed specific information about Magnetic energy and what it actually is, and, more importantly, what it can do. So, the focus for the coming weeks will be additional pages on how and why it works, plus more detail on the magnets themselves.

A recent offer of a 20% discount in the Saturday Telegraph that appeared at the end of May is still bringing in enquiries and sales and has made us realise that more needs to be done to advance Magniwool in general.

Last, but not least, we often have Magniwool Underblankets that come back from magazines/photography shoots and we aim to put these up for sale at a 30% discount – if there is something specific that you might like, just let us know and either join a waiting list or take pot-luck with whatever might be around at the time …

Bertie, one of our Jack Russells (or “Jack Rascals” as a friend prefers to call them) accompanied me on a weeks holiday to Devon, with his all important Magniwool pet bed. Although he doesn’t have too much in the way of aches and pains, he most definitely makes a bee-line for it and seems to know that sleeping on it is good for him! Perhaps some regular hour long walks had something to do with it, because we both came home feeling trimmer and fitter … if only I hadn’t succeeded in losing his “best” leather lead; what on earth possessed me to think of taking that particular one on holiday? Never mind, we have come home with a very fetching piece of rope clothes line kindly made into a dog lead – necessity is the mother of invention, or so they say!

Welcome to the very first Magniwool blog… Magniwool joined the White Cloud brand of products over 5 years ago and earlier this year we felt it deserved a focus of its own. After a lot of collaborative effort, Magniwool now has a separate brochure, its own Website page, a Facebook page and a Twitter account is planned.

In many ways purchasing a Magniwool can be something of a leap of faith; there is no guarantee that it works for everyone and some customers notice considerably more improvement in their health than others. Having said that, we are convinced that approaching something like magnet therapy with a positive attitude does most definitely make a significant difference to results. Very occasionally we have telephone conversations with customers who feel “worse” but invariably it seems to be a case of needing to go through that, in order to start feeling an improvement. Almost impossible to quantify, but 9 times out of 10, persistence does pay off.

From our point of view, the appeal of Magniwool is the provision of complete improvement for the entire body, not just a small localised area. Given that most of us spend a third of the day sleeping, this means that the whole body benefits from being in close contact to a large number of high quality modern synthetic magnets.

There we are, a brief summary of what Magniwool is and what it offers… in future Blogs we will keep you up to date with news, tell you a bit more about current Offers, include some recent Testimonials from customers (and their pets!) and generally try to keep what we write interesting and informative.
