Not all wools are the same!

Not all wools are the same!

Spectacular and pristine, New Zealand is a land of magnificent mountains, rugged high country, lush green valleys, snow fed rivers and clear blue lakes. It is also home to some of the best quality wools in the world. Here, Merino sheep flourish, well suited to withstand the extreme conditions of living upto 2,000 metres above sea level. The Merino produces a 10 cm long fleece which surrounds the animal with warmth in winter, but is still fine enough to keep it cool and dry in the summer months.
It is these qualities which make the Merino wool fibre ideal for achieving the softness and warmth required for our bedding products. To provide the additional bulk and loft needed, wool from the stronger wool breeds, such as Corriedale, Romney and Perendale are used. These thicker fleeces provide the perfect complement to the finer Merino wool.
